Alerts
Settings → Alerts makes QKVM watch the KVMs and tell you when one goes offline, when a computer loses its picture, when a login is rejected or a certificate changes, and when that is over. A change counts once it has lasted about half a minute.
- Alerts are posted to a webhook address: an ntfy topic, a Slack or Discord incoming webhook, or anything that accepts a JSON POST. The address is stored encrypted. Send a test alert tries it.
- Every change is also written to the activity log, with or without an address.
- While alerts are on, QKVM keeps watching after everyone has signed out. For that it keeps the saved KVM passwords unlocked in memory until it is restarted. After a restart, watching begins when someone signs in.
- A JetKVM that is not on screen is only checked for answering, because looking at its picture would take its one viewer slot.
- For a server, "lost its picture" means it was switched off, and a critical fault reported by its controller counts as a problem.
